Power Stroke Diesel Engine Offers 30 MPG Highway on Ford F-150

“Even a few years ago, customers wouldn’t have imagined an EPA-estimated rating of 30 mpg highway would be possible in a full-size pickup, but our team of crazy-smart engineers rose to the challenge,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford executive vice president, product development and purchasing.

The 3.0-liter Power Stroke® engine is making its way to the Ford F-150 for the first time as a late addition to the 2018 model. The diesel engine has best-in-class EPA-estimated fuel ratings of 22 miles per gallon during city driving and 30 miles per gallon while on the highway.

Great fuel economy isn’t all the Power Stroke diesel engine has up its sleeve. Ford has balanced the efficiency with plenty of power. The new engine is rated at 250 horsepower and an impressive 440 pound-feet of torque.
