Ford owners with models ranging from the 2010 to 2017 model years will now have an opportunity to upgrade their ride with connectivity features found on the FordPass app. FordPass SmartLink is a small device that plugs into older model year Ford vehicles to equip them with features traditionally only offered on new Ford vehicles produced with a modem.
“Vehicle connectivity has improved at a rapid rate in recent years. We believe offering an affordable way for our customers to upgrade their older-model vehicles to include more modern technology will improve their ownership experience for years to come,” said Frederiek Toney, president, Global, Ford Customer Service Division.
Car shoppers can purchase the FordPass SmartLink system at their local Ford retailer. Select Ford retailers have the FordPass SmartLink system available for purchase now. Ford expects the system to be available nationwide by the middle of 2018.
