The Ford Mustang Shelby has been around since the early 1960s. Ford wanted to compete with other top manufacturers and produce an American muscle car. Fast forward to early 2019, and the all-new 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 was released as being the most powerful Ford vehicle to date. What are the specs of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that make the vehicle so powerful? We give you the lowdown in this blog by the Chris Auffenberg Family of Dealerships.
The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be able to produce so much horsepower due to the 2.65-liter Eaton supercharger that is also found under the hood. To top it all off, there is also a TREMEC 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The transmission allows the car to shift in under one-tenth of a second. All of these parts work together to give the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 the capability to go 0-60 in three seconds.

Finally, the front features a new grille that offers 50% more cooling airflow. Everything that went into designing and making this vehicle was focused on improving the car’s performance.
