The 2021 Hyundai Elantra beat out 40 other sedans to become the 2021 North American Car of the Year™. The other two finalists were the Nissan Sentra and Genesis G80. The Hyundai Elantra previously won this prestigious award in 2012. There are two other vehicles that have done this. They are the Chevrolet Corvette and Honda Civic.
The vehicles were judged on being a leader in their respective segment, originality, design, how safe it is, handling, driver satisfaction, and value. The judges were various car journalists from throughout the country and from Canada. There were three separate votes taken, and the 2021 Hyundai Elantra came out the winner!
