The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the Dodge Challenger and Chrysler Pacifica two of the Top Cars of Texas at their annual auto roundup. To pick their favorite vehicles, the auto writers had a chance to take all 29 competing models out on surface roads and a specialty autocross course to see what they were made of from behind the steering wheel. “Driving enthusiasts in Texas love horsepower, and the Dodge Challenger’s classic muscular lines and monumental power won over our voters,” said Michael Marrs, president of TAWA and co-host of the “In Wheel Time” radio show in Houston. “The Chrysler Pacifica continues to impress our members with its combination of family-friendly features, technology and versatility, while the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio offers Texans both performance and Italian design for an exceptional driving experience.”
The 2019 Dodge Challenger lineup received multiple awards at the auto roundup including Car of Texas, Performance Car of Texas, and Performance Coupe of Texas. The Car of Texas is the top honor at the show. The 2019 Challenger lineup is the most powerful yet with a brand-new SRT Hellcat Redeye configuration that boasts 797 horsepower. Perfect for Texas drivers who want heart-pounding performance underfoot when traveling country and city roads.
The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica also took home multiple awards at the auto roundup including Family Car of Texas and Minivan of Texas. The auto writers highlighted the well-rounded nature of the 2019 Pacifica that delivers family-friendly travel, modern tech, and active safety. The Pacifica sits on a brand new platform for the 2019 model year and now delivers best-in-class performance and fuel economy for busy families on the move.
