In a continuing collaboration with Marvel that started with the Hyundai Veloster appearing in Ant Man and the Wasp, Hyundai has created an Iron Man-inspired version of their Hyundai Kona for the Marvel booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. What makes this collaboration really special is that Hyundai has announced that they have plans to release the Kona Iron Man Edition for a limited run, so Marvel and Hyundai fans can actually have a chance at owning one. “Seeing this car come to life is like wish fulfillment for so many of us. When you grow up reading comics, you dream of seeing that technology and those inventions become reality. We hope that everyone has just as much fun jumping into this one-of-a-kind vehicle as they would putting on the actual Iron Man suit of armor,” said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel’s SVP of Global Partnerships & Marketing.

As expected, the Kona Iron Man Edition’s design has strong ties to the Iron Man suit and includes details like a specially designed front-lighting signature, an Iron Man graphic on the roof, Iron Man badging, Iron Man center caps on each wheel, an Iron Man-inspired shift lever, a Head Up Display with Iron Man graphics, and a premium exterior paint job that mimics the colors found on the Iron Man suit.

Expected Release Date

Unlike most promotional vehicles, the Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition will actually be produced for sale globally. A limited run of Marvel-inspired Kona’s will start production in December with a release date expected sometime in the beginning of 2019.
