Should I get a bed liner for my new truck?

If you aim to preserve the pristine condition of your truck bed, investing in a truck bed liner is essential. These liners act as a protective barrier, shielding your truck bed from the elements and effectively minimizing the risks of rust, scratches, dings, and scrapes during cargo transport. As a bonus, when the time comes to sell or trade in your vehicle, you’ll appreciate the wise decision you made with this initial investment.

Spray-In vs Drop-In Bed Liners

While there are a handful of ben liner options to choose from, the two most popular selections are a spray-in liner or a plastic drop-in liner. Like their names suggest, a spray-in liner is a product that will be physically sprayed on to your existing truck bed and will harden to provide a layer of added protection and a drop-in liner will be overlaid on top of your truck bed to provide a hard barrier. Both bed liner options have their pros and cons.

Spray-in liners are a little more expensive but create a secure seal that locks out moisture and the potential for rust. Spray-in liners can also add a rough texture to your truck bed that can help reduce cargo slippage. Drop-in liners are less expensive overall and can add a thicker layer of protection against dents and dings. However, moisture and debris can find its way in between the liner and truck bed and its plastic surface can become slippery, especially when wet.

Whether you opt for a spray-in liner or a drop-in liner, it’s essential that you do your research in advance to get a quality product. We recommend working directly with your local dealership to secure a bed liner that has been specifically tailored to your brand and model.
