2020 Silverado Gains New Engine, Increased Trailering Technology

Fans of the Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup truck can expect to see a variety of performance and towing updates for the 2020 model year. Along with information on vehicle updates, Chevy also released pictures of a brand-new custom 2020 Silverado Trail Boss configuration to highlight the upcoming model year. “In today’s truck market, customers continually demand more features, more technology and more capability,” said Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer of Full-Size Trucks. “For 2020, we are delivering more in each of these areas. As a result, the Silverado now offers customers the most towing capability of any light-duty pickup and the most affordable light-duty truck with more than 400 horsepower.”

Starting under $44,000 for the Custom Trail Boss, Chevrolet offers enthusiasts an affordable truck with serious performance on and off road.”

Feature and Performance Updates Coming To The 2020 Lineup

In terms of engine updates, the largest changes for the 2020 Chevy Silverado are the inclusion of a new 10-speed automatic transmission for models equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine and a brand-new 6.2L V8 engine available on select trims. In addition to the new engine and transmission systems, select 2020 Silverado models will also now come outfitted with increased trailering technology to make the process easier and safer when driving the streets or navigating crowded spaces.
